Colonies on 2% Difco Oatmeal Agar at ca. 20°C and under 12 h fluorescent light reaching the edge of 9 cm Petri dish in 1-1.5 wk, whitish, felty, azonate, with diffuse margins, becoming smoke gray (105) with slight olivaceous tone; reverse uncolored, citrine (13), or dull green (70).

Stromata sparse, scattered, pulvinate, brown vinaceous (84), remaining sterile.

Sporulating regions scattered over entire surfaces of colony and stroma, smoke gray (105).

Conidiogenous structure with Nodulisporium-like branching pattern as defined in Ju and Rogers (1996).

Conidiophores mononematous or sometimes synnematous, di- or trichotomously branched, sometimes with additional branches arising from the first level of conidiogenous regions, hyaline to yellowish, finely to coarsely roughened, 2.5-3 mm diam, with two to three conidiogenous cells arising from each terminus.

Conidiogenous cells cylindrical, hyaline, finely roughened, 8-22 x 2-3 mm. Conidia produced holoblastically in sympodial sequence.

Conidia hyaline, smooth to finely roughened, ellipsoid, with flattened base, 4.5-6.5 x 2.5-3 mm.
