NOTES

Hypoxylon rickii has a Nodulisporium-like conidiogenous structure which differentiates it from other Hypoxylon taxa with red to orange red granules. The exception is H. olivicolor, which also has a Nodulisporium-like conidiogenous structure but its olivaceous stromatal surface and slightly larger ascospores separate it from H. rickii.
