HYPOXYLON APIAHYNUM SPEG.
The status of the name is uncertain.Hypoxylon apiahynum Speg., Bol. Acad. Nac. Ci. 11: 506. 1889.
BRAZIL: Apiahy, 8.1881, Puiggari 1655, corticated wood (BPI, ISOTYPE of H. apiahynum).
A member of Hypoxylon section Annulata. The type material at BPI is depauperate. Only one perithecium has the ostiolar disc remaining. The ascospores are light brown, 7-8 x 3-3.5 mm.
