This was listed by Fries (1823) as a synonym of Cytospora [as "Cytispora"] chrysosperma (Pers.: Fr.) Fr. Tulasne and Tulasne (1863) mentioned that it is the anamorph of Valsa nivea (Hoffm.: Fr.) Fr. [º Leucostoma nivea (Hoffm.: Fr.) Höhn.]
