Hypoxylon congestum (Hino & Katumoto) Ahmad, Monogr. Biol. Soc. Pakistan 7: 105. 1978; non Berk. & Broome, 1873; [nom. rejic., ICBN Art. 64.1].

º Rosellinia congesta Hino & Katumoto, Bull. Fac. Agric. Yamaguti Univ. 8: 656. 1957.

We did not receive a response from YAM where the type is presumably housed. The description and illustrations in the protologue indicate that this fungus is a bambusicolous Rosellinia. Hino and Katumoto (1957) believed this fungus to be related to Rosellinia amblystoma Berl. & Sacc.
