The type was collected from the Philippines. Unfortunately, it was not located at S. This fungus was described (in Saccardo, 1972) as having ascospores "fusoideis, leniter inaequilateris, utrinque acutis, continuis, fuscis, 25-28 x 5-7 ?quot; and having discoid to patelliform stromata, 2-3 mm diam. In general, it fits H. fragillimum (Rehm) J. H. Miller which was also collected from the Philippines.
