This name does not belong to Ascovirgaria, Biscogniauxia, Creosphaeria, Daldinia, Discoxylaria, Entoleuca, Hypoxylon, Jumillera, Kretzschmaria, Kretzschmariella, Nemania, Stilbohypoxylon, Vivantia, or Whalleya.

Rosellinia pseudohypoxylon Speg., Bol. Acad. Nac. Ci. 25: 52. 1921.

Petrini (1993) excluded this fungus from Rosellinia and mentioned that it is a Hypoxylon sensu J. H. Miller. The type was collected from Chile on Chusquea cummingi. It may be related to, or even conspecific with, Hypoxylon chusqueae Henn. Also see Ju and Rogers (1994).
