The status of the name is uncertain.Nummularia caespitosa Pat. var. areolata Rehm, Hedwigia 40: 141. 1901.
We were unable to locate the type at S. Rehm's protologue and illustrations indicate that this is a ustulinoid Kretzschmaria.
