We have not examined material of this fungus. According to Rappaz (1995), this fungus is close to Hypoxylon albostictum (Ellis & Morg.) J. H. Miller [º Biscogniauxia albosticta (Ellis & Morg.) Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers].
