SPHAERIA DEUSTA HOFFM.: FR. VAR. PLATYCEPS PERS.
The status of the name is uncertain.Sphaeria deusta Hoffm.: Fr. var. platyceps Pers., Observ. Mycol. I, p. 19. 1796.
We have not seen material of this fungus. The description and illustrations in Persoon (1796) suggest that this name represents a morph of K. deusta that has a short, slender stipe.
