NOTES

Most specimens at BPI were determined by J. H. Miller as H. investiens. The ascospore perispores are indehiscent in most specimens. In the young stromata, purplish pigments are detected. However, they are hardly detectable in the mature stromata. Also see NOTES on H. monticulosum.
