The status of the name is uncertain.

Hypoxylon amorphum Ellis & Everh., ined.

Miller (1942, 1961) and Shear (1945) treated this name as a synonym of H. sclerophaeum Berk. & M. A. Curtis. Therefore, it is probably a Hypoxylon taxon.
