LOCALITY UNKNOWN: decorticated wood, as Sphaeria atropurpurea (L 910, 270-277); corticated wood, as Sphaeria atropurpurea (L 910, 270-305).
The cited specimens are from Persoon's herbarium at L. Specimen 910, 270-277 is H. multiforme (Fr.: Fr.) Fr. Specimen 910, 270-305 has the stromatal characteristics of H. fuscum (Pers.: Fr.) Fr. but is immature.
