The status of the name is uncertain.

Hypoxylon nagatense Hino & Katumoto, Bull. Fac. Agric. Yamaguti Univ. 6: 60. 1955.

We did not receive a response from YAM where the type material is presumably housed. This fungus was said to grow on the dead culms of Phyllostachys reticulata.
