The status of the name is uncertain.Hypoxylon obesum Fr., Nova Acta Regiae Soc. Sci. Upsal., ser. III, 1: 129. 1851.
According to the description in Saccardo (1882a), this is a possible member of Hypoxylon section Annulata. We were unable to locate the type material at UPS.
