The status of the name is uncertain.Hypoxylon theissenii Bres., Stud. Trent. 7: fasc. 1. 1926.

This name was listed in Index of Fungi compiled by Petrak (1950). It implies that Bresadola published a nomen novum for Theissen's H. haematostroma. As far as we know, Theissen did not publish a new name as H. haematostroma. His interpretation (Theissen, 1909) of Montagne's H. haematostroma is incorrect, probably being based on specimens of H. anthochroum Berk. & Broome.
