GERMANY: Sachsen, Leipzig, Kunze, G., corticated wood, as Sphaeria succenturiata (UPS 58312). U.S.A.: Pennsylvania, Bethlehem, syn. 1217, wood, as Sphaeria succenturiata by Schweinitz, L. D. V. (PH). The cited specimen at UPS is Lopadostoma gastrinum (Fr.: Fr.) Traverso. However, the descriptions in Persoon (1801), Fries (1823), and Nitschke (1867) suggest a Biscogniauxia taxon. The Schweinitz specimen at PH is sterile. |
