Biscogniauxia nothofagi Whalley, Laessøe, & Kile, Mycol. Res. 94: 237. 1990.

Ascospores have a hyaline cellular appendage. No specimens were examined. Whalley et al. (1990a) gave the ascospore size range as (12.2-) 13.2-14.6 (-15.0) x 7.1-8.0 mm. This fungus is similar to B. pithodes and B. mediterranea and its varieties in having coarsely papillate ostioles.
