NOTES
This fungus is characterized by a white outer dehiscing stromatal layer, coarsely papillate ostioles, and large, appendaged ascospores. The type material of B. pithodes at K is depauperate. The observation of the white outer dehiscing stromatal layer is based on the type material of Nummularia fuscodisca. See also NOTES on B. philippinensis.
