TELEOMORPH

Biscogniauxia uniapiculata (Penz. & Sacc.) Whalley & Laessøe var. macrospora (J. D. Rogers) Whalley & Laessøe apud Whalley, Laessøe, & Kile, Mycol. Res. 94: 239. 1990.

º Hypoxylon uniapiculatum (Penz. & Sacc.) J. H. Miller var. macrosporum J. D. Rogers, Mycologia 67: 1063. 1975.

The teleomorph is much like that of the typical variety except in consistently having a less than spore-length germ slit, in having more frequently inequilateral ascospores, and in having a larger ascospore size range, 13-15.5 (not including appendage) x 7.5-10 mm. Ascospore appendages are 2-3 mm long.
