NOTES

Hypoxylon haematostroma differs from other similar Hypoxylon taxa containing red or orange red stromatal granules in having constantly long tubular perithecia, in having larger ascospores, and in having a Periconiella-like conidiogenous structure.

Cultures and anamorph have been described by Rogers et al. (1987) [as H. crocopeplum] on PDYA.
