NOTES

The collections of H. laschii examined thus far are from Populus from northern temperate areas. It was considered to be a synonym of H. rubiginosum by Miller (1961) from which it differs in having lighter granules inside the stromata and in having erumpent stromata. Petrini and Müller (1986) considered H. laschii to be a synonym of H. rubiginosum var. perforatum [º H. perforatum]. They are primarily different in stromatal surface colors, in granule colors, and in KOH-extractable pigments.

The type of H. luridum var. minus was not located at PAD. It was reported as occurring on Populus nigra (Saccardo, 1882a).
