Hypoxylon ravidoroseum Y.-M. Ju, Van der Gucht & J. D. Rogers apud Van der Gucht, Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers, Mycotaxon 55: 547. 1995.

Stromata effused-pulvinate, plane, (0.5-) 1-5 cm long x (0.3-) 0.5-3 cm broad x 0.4-0.6 mm thick; surface grayish rose (55), livid vinaceous (83), or pale vinaceous (85); pinkish granules (blackish when integrated) immediately beneath surface and between perithecia, without apparent KOH-extractable pigments; the tissue below the perithecial layer inconspicuous.

Perithecia obovoid, 0.1-0.2 mm diam x 0.2-0.3 mm high.

Ostioles lower than the stromatal surface.

Asci 87-105 mm total length x 3-5 mm broad, the spore-bearing parts 43-52 mm long, the stipes 41-55 mm long, with apical ring bluing in Melzer's iodine reagent, discoid, 0.3-0.5 mm high x 1 mm broad.

Ascospores light brown to brown, unicellular, ellipsoid-inequilateral, with narrowly rounded ends, 5-7 x 2.5-3.5 mm, with straight germ slit spore-length; perispore dehiscent in 10% KOH, smooth; epispore smooth.
