Stromata with the general characteristics of the genus, up to 2 cm long x 0.5-1.5 cm broad x 0.7-2 mm thick; mature surface white.

Perithecia 0.2-0.3 mm diam.

Ostioles lower than stromatal surface, with ostiolar openings appearing punctate.

Asci 100-115 m total length x 5.5-6.5 m broad, the spore-bearing part 60-75 m long, the stipe 30-40 m long, with apical ring bluing in Melzer's iodine reagent, discoid, 0.5 m high x 2 m broad.

Ascospores brown to dark brown, unicellular, ellipsoid, nearly equilateral, with broadly rounded ends, smooth, 8.5-11 x 4-5 m, with straight germ slit spore-length.
