NOTES

Hypoxylon urceolatum differs from H. leptascum primarily in having purplish KOH-extractable pigments. It has been found only in Asia. Nummularia urceolata was considered to be a synonym of H. truncatum var. pouceanum [º H. pouceanum] from which the former differs primarily in having a very short germ slit extending from one end of ascospores and in having pale brown ascospores.
