NOTES

Biscogniauxia atropunctata and its small-spored varieties, intermedia and maritima, are readily recognized by their white mature stromatal surfaces with black ostioles. The former is exceedingly common on Quercus species in southeastern United States.

Cultures and anamorph have been described by Martin (1969b) on 2% malt agar. The conidiogenous structure that we describe herein is in accordance with his description.
