This fungus is characterized by scattered, widely spaced, coarsely papillate ostiolar openings, each of which serves a number of perithecia, and by ascospore germ slits that are much less than spore-length. The part of exiccatum Fungi Austro-Americani no. 273 at BPI is immature.
