Stromata glomerate, probably with conspicuous perithecial mounds, 2-3 mm diam x 1.4 mm thick; surface sepia (63); dull reddish brown granules immediately beneath surface and between perithecia, without apparent KOH-extractable pigments; the tissue below the perithecial layer inconspicuous.

Perithecia spherical, 1-1.4 mm diam.

Ostioles lower than the stromatal surface, surrounded with a paler area ca. 0.3-0.4 mm diam.

Asci not found.

Ascospores dark brown to blackish brown, unicellular, ellipsoid, nearly equilateral, with broadly rounded ends, 25-31 x 14-18 mm, with straight germ slit less than spore-length; perispore indehiscent in 10% KOH; epispore smooth.
