Hypoxylon ferrugineum Otth

NOTES
Miller (1961) treated H. ferrugineum as a variety of H. rubiginosum. Since they can be differentiated by habit of stromata, distribution of granules, colors of the tissue below the perithecial layer, and ascospore size ranges, they are considered to be different species. This fungus seems highly associated with Tilia. Also compare with H. dearnessii and H. diatrypeoides.
