NOTES

A Madagascar collection [MADAGASCAR: Andasibe, 19.7.1981, Gilles, G., MAD 187, wood (JDR)] and a Chinese collection [CHINA: Fukien Prov., Yen-ping, Buong-kang, 3.7.1925, Chung, H.H. F-183, rotten log, as H. dieckmannii by Miller, J.H. (GAM 2342)] in general agree with H. lienhwacheense, but differ in having ostioles lower than the stromatal surface and usually overlain with a white substance, in having slightly smaller ascospores, 4.5-6 x 2-3 mm, and in having smaller perithecia, 0.1 mm diam x 0.3 mm high.
