CULTURES AND ANAMORPH

Culture and anamorph: Colonies on 2% Difco oatmeal agar at ca. 20¢XC and under 12 h fluorescent light reaching the edge of 9 cm Petri dish in 6 weeks, whitish, felty, azonate, with diffuse margins, becoming Buff (45) to Vinaceous Buff (86) and floccose. Reverse uncolored. Sporulating regions scattered over entire surface of colony, grayish. Conidiophores erect, dicho- or, rarely, trichotomously branched, without a well-defined main axis, 2-2.5 µm broad at base, hyaline or pale brown, smooth. Conidiogenous cells proliferating indeterminately, cylindrical, geniculate, 2-2.5 µm broad, hyaline, smooth-walled, bearing terminal and lateral poroid conidial secession scars 0.5 µm diam. Conidia produced holoblastically in sympodial sequence. Conidia hyaline (grayish collectively), smooth, subglobose, 2.5-3.5 x 2-3 µm, with flattened base indicating former point of attachment to conidiogenous cell.
