CULTURES AND ANAMORPH
Colonies on 2% Difco oatmeal agar incubated at 20C and 12 h of fluorescent light covering Petri dish in 4-5 wk, at first whitish, velvety, with diffuse margins, soon showing alternating bright yellow and greenish olivaceous concentric zones. Reverse uncolored.
Two synanamorphs produced.
Libertella-like synanamorph:
Conidium-bearing regions distributed within or upon irregular stromatized areas which are dull green on the surface.
Conidiophores di- or trichotomously branched, with hyaline to pale brown stipes, smooth-walled, arranged in dense palisades.
Conidiogenous cells terminal, cylindrical, smooth, 20-30 x 1.5-2 m, bearing slightly denticulate secession scars. Conidia produced holoblastically in sympodial sequence.
Conidia hyaline, dull green in slimy masses, smooth, long cylindrical, slightly curved, 10-18 x 1-2 m, with flattened base indicating former point of attachment to conidiogenous cell.
Geniculosporium-like synanamorph:
Conidium-bearing regions usually distributed upon the stromatized areas.
Conidiophores unbranched or branched, hyaline, smooth-walled.
Conidiogenous cells terminal, long cylindrical, smooth, 15-30 x 2 m, bearing poroid secession scars. Conidia produced holoblastically in sympodial sequence.
Conidia hyaline, white in dry masses, smooth, ellipsoid to clavate, 4.5-11.5 x 1.5-3 m, with flattened base indicating former point of attachment to conidiogenous cell.
